For both the professional and amateur historian, one of the most priceless artifacts to find while conducting research aside from a quality interview is a primary source, such as a letter(s), photograph, or diary. 


In this case, this artifact was the journal kept by Milan Franceschi of Company A, which was graciously sent for use on this webpage by his family.


In his journal, Franceschi kept a log of the places and dates that he traveled while a member of the 439th from 1942 - 1945.  What he wrote down and its contents are indeed priceless.
